Introduction
Whenever you access company data through any managed mobile apps you will be prompted to register to a new Mobile Application Management Policy which will apply restrictions intended to protect the data accessed.
What Do I Need To Do?
If you wish to access any of the managed apps with your work account you’ll just need the relevant app downloaded. When you log In the first time after the policy rolls out you’ll be asked to complete a short registration to our new App Protection Policy for Android and iOS. It's a quick and easy process with guidance throughout.
Once you're set up, you'll be able to securely access and store company data via personal mobile devices whilst keeping your personal data separate.
The below gives you a deeper insight into what to expect.
Basic Requirements:
OS Version: Android 12.0+ or iOS 16.0+
Note: Rooted or jailbroken devices will be blocked and unable to register.
Managed Apps required for best experience:
Below is a list of Managed apps that must be downloaded to handle company data. Logging into alternative applications with your work credentials will result in potential issues and errors.
Microsoft Authenticator
| Required for Multi Factor Authentication (MFA). Alternative Authenticators will not work. | |
Microsoft Edge | Required to open web links and documents online received through work account. Can also be used to access other Microsoft online apps. | |
Microsoft Excel | Required to open and edit company spreadsheets. (.xls,.xlsx) | |
Microsoft OneDrive | Optional to easily view and access private Microsoft documents that have been downloaded from web or saved for editing online and offline. | |
Microsoft Outlook | Required to send/receive company email and access your work calendar. | |
Microsoft PowerPoint | Required if you are sent or wish to edit Slideshow materials (.ppt, .pptx) | |
Microsoft SharePoint | Optional to access or update Sharepoint pages you have access to. You can review and edit documents you have access rights to. You will be redirected to the relevant app to edit. | |
Microsoft Teams | Required for inter team and company chats and meetings. Can be used to quickly share information between colleagues and a more secure messaging service to manage company data. | |
Microsoft Word | Required to open and edit word documents (.doc, .docx) | |
Microsoft Company Portal (Android only)
| Required by Android users to manage your policy registration. This runs in the background and does not need to be opened. Setup and access is not possible until this is downloaded. |
Additional non-essential managed apps available but not regularly required/used
Microsoft OneNote | Useful tool to keep tabbed online notes on meetings and lists. | |
Microsoft To Do | A simple to do list of tasks that can be linked from Outlook for an overview of tasks outstanding and completed. |
Emails
Many device supply their own Mail App or Mail client that allows you to manage multiple email accounts at once. You must use the Microsoft Outlook App. Once registered you can add personal outlook accounts to it or use 3rd party mail clients for personal email accounts.

Copy Paste
Copy and paste is only possible between the managed apps. You can also paste content from personal apps into the managed apps but you cannot paste from company documents to 3rd party apps.
Browser
To open links and web addresses Microsoft Edge app is required. Any link will automatically open in this browser.

Saving
It Is not possible to download data accessed through your work account to a local drive, but you will have the option to view and save a copy to your personal OneDrive space.
When you save any document you are restricted to saving either in your local OneDrive space or Sharepoint. If you do not download the OneDrive and Sharepoint apps it will access them through the Edge browser. This prevents accidental saving to local storage and losing track of its location. For best performance and offline work it is advised to download the supporting OneDrive and Sharepoint apps.
It is not possible to backup data to icloud or Google Drive. You will be prompted to save to One Drive or Sharepoint.
Screenshots
You are unable to take screenshots of any company accessible data. If you need to send information internally it is better to send a link to the document or page you want them to see. This will use the Outlook app or Teams to complete.
Work Contacts
You cannot sync work contact numbers and addresses with your phones native address book.
Printing
You cannot print documents from the managed apps. This stops accidental printing of sensitive data outside the offices.
Key Restrictions:
- No backup of corporate data to iCloud or Google Drive.
- Limited access to managed apps.
- No saving corporate data to local storage (only OneDrive or SharePoint).
- No copy-paste from managed to unmanaged apps.
- No screen capture from managed apps.
- No sync to native apps (contacts, etc.).
- No printing corporate data.
- Corporate Web content restricted to Microsoft Edge browser.
Privacy
Your personal data remains private. Only access to corporate data will be affected if your work account is disabled. A more detailed breakdown of what can be accessed by Amoria Group is listed below.
