From August 2025 Amoria Group moved it's email security to Microsoft Defender.

What is Microsoft Defender for Office 365?

Windows Defender for Office 365 is your built-in email bodyguard. It helps protect you from online threats like phishing emails, suspicious links, and harmful attachments—before they even reach your inbox.

Why It Matters to You
Stay Safe: It blocks dangerous content so you don’t accidentally click on something risky.
Work Confidently: You can focus on your job without worrying about scams or viruses.
Peace of Mind: It works quietly in the background, keeping your email secure without interrupting your day.
Think of it as a smart security system for your email—always on, always watching out for you.

Why is my email quarantined?

Sometimes, emails are held back—or quarantined—because they look suspicious or potentially harmful. This means they don’t go straight to your inbox. Instead, they’re placed in a safe holding area so they can be checked more closely.

Emails might be quarantined if they:

Contain dangerous links or attachments (like viruses or malware)
Look like phishing attempts (trying to trick you into giving away personal info)
Come from unknown or untrusted senders
Break company or security rules (like spoofing or spam)
You’ll usually get a notification if an email is quarantined, and you can review it safely to decide if it’s something you need or if it should stay blocked.

What should I do if I've received a quarantine email?

Simply click review message and you will be directed to the Microsoft Defender page on your internet browser.

Click on the message you want to review to open a side window.

Here you can review the sender details and reason for the quarantine. If you recognise who the sender is and were expecting the email you can simply click Release email and the email will appear in your Outlook inbox within a minute to manage as normal.

If however you are uncertain click the Ellipses (3 dots as indicated below) and select Preview email

If you do suspect the email is indeed spam then you can block sender from here too.

Please note that when you choose one of these options you will be offered to Report the message as well as a final confirmation button

I am expecting a very important email but it hasn't come through and i haven't received a quarantine email as detailed above.

The Alert emails are sent once every 4 hours. If you know an email is due you can check the Microsoft Defender Quarantine page prior to receiving an alert to check its contents by clicking the following link.
